I drove to Clovis, CA with my brother Andrew today, to retrieve my car. It didn't act up on the way home, so it seems to be fixed. The repair shop said the oxygen sensor had failed, which would seem to be consistent with the "failed to accelerate when driving up a mountain" failure mode. Huzzah.
Seven hours on the road is...a lot.
